Trial and Appellate: Original legal actions in court or appeals from previous decisions by a lower court or government agency. Corporate: Legal matters concerning a corporation or business. Product Liability: Laws dealing with the responsibility of manufacturers (and sometimes sellers) for injuries caused by a defective product. Banking: Legal matters involving banking laws and regulations. Real Estate: Legal matters dealing with the purchase of real property or disputes involving ownership of real property. Probate: Legal matters arising from the creation of or implementation of a last will and testament. Also, legal matters relating to transfer of property that was owned by a deceased person. Mineral Law: Specifically dealing with legal matters pertaining to mineral rights such as laws and regulations dealing with the coal industry. Workers’ Compensation: Legal matters stemming from the injury of a worker in the work place. Domestic Relations and Family Law:
Legal matters involving families. This would include such matters
as divorce, legal separations, adoptions, child support obligations, child
custody and termination of parental rights.
